About Suzanne
Suzanne Reed Fine's work has been exhibited throughout the Southeast, as well as private and corporate collections. Suzanne cites artists Stephen Quiller, Katherine Chang-Liu, Leslie Dill and Bo Bartlett as strong influences in her work. Fine works in all watermedia, but finds acrylic to be the medium that best brings out her paintings voice. Vibrant, luminous layers of color and often passages of text fill her paintings. Working in a way she considers to be somewhat abstractly, Fine wants to give the viewer a glimpse of realism, but with the energy and urgency of abstracted marks, she marries the two. Whether working with the human form or with landscape, Suzanne believes each has a life to it, a story to be discovered and the intrigue for her is to bring that about.
Her work is shown at the Two Sisters Gallery in Columbus, GA and Frame Shop: Creede in Creede, CO. Fine is a Signature Member of the Southern Watercolor Society, the Georgia Watercolor Society and Active Member of the Watercolor Society of Alabama. A native of New Mexico and raised in Colorado, Fine is a fourth generation artist who now lives in Columbus, GA with her husband and two young daughters.
